Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a condition in which the force of blood against artery walls is consistently elevated, increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke, and kidney problems. It is typically managed through lifestyle changes (like diet and exercise) and medications such as ACE inhibitors, beta blockers, or diuretics. Insulin is not used to treat hypertension. However, people with diabetes often have a higher risk of developing high blood pressure, and the two conditions are frequently managed together. Even so, they are treated with distinct medications. Insulin helps manage diabetes, not blood pressure. Keeping both conditions under control is vital, but it’s important to recognize their separate treatment paths.
